This piece was inspired by urban graffiti and layered advertising you see on old billboards, and telephone poles. All those rich textures and colours that all sort of blend together and make something new.

ive always been fascinated with all those rich textures and layers forming new narratives. Living near a very industrialized city also has had it's influences. I like urban photography-- but for me that's too easy--- i'd rather create something that has that look and feel that captures that energy and grit and texture.

ive tried using those lips in a couple of other failed experiments, im glad i finally found a home for them.
this is the kind of art i love to make.
